Celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child 2025
Theme: “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis”
DCF celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child 2025 at the Pallima Sangshad auditorium, Khilgaon, Dhaka, supported by Save the Children and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands under the SWOCCHAR Project.
Around 30 children from 4 schools participated in a vibrant art competition, followed by a discussion session joined by Ms. Nasrin Jahan, Executive Director, DCF; Mr. Hafizur Rahman Bullet, Vice Chair, DCF; Ms. Fahmida Zaman, Teacher, Babul Academy; Ms. Reba Rani Sarker, Teacher, Khilgaon Govt. Colony High School; and Ms. Fatema Akter Lucky, Head Teacher, Khilgaon Govt. Colony Govt. Primary School.
Students Farhana Islam (Class V, Babul Academy) and Ivy (Class VIII, Khilgaon Govt. Colony High School) presented the keynote paper on this year’s theme and shared their inspiring perspectives on girls’ leadership and rights.
All participating children received prizes, and the winners of the art competition were specially awarded for their creativity and expression.
It was a joyful day celebrating courage, creativity, and the power of girls to lead change.
